(b Sweden 1961) studied History & Drama,
Theatre & Film, and later History of Art. Worked as a
journalist before attending Glasgow School of Art BA Hons
Fine Art Painting 1995.
Works in the past two years have been inspired by art of
the Renaissance. On a visit to Florence, Eva was particularly
fascinated by the remains and fragments of the frescoes that
had not survived, where it was no longer possible to make
a full understanding of the works,

but instead where it was possible to
let the imagination take over and wonder what had been there
before.
Mixing dry pigments from Italy and applying paint and gesso
in layers, then scraping back into the ground, Eva creates
evocative textured surfaces. Drawing and mark making are
of particular importance to Eva in both the making of the
larger canvases and the smaller scale works on paper.
