Born 1959, studied at
the Newcastle University and Edinburgh College of Art.
Monbusho Scholar at Kyoto University of Arts, Japan
(1985-87). Prizewinner at the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2001.
Has exhibited nationally and internationally at venues in
Germany, Italy, Denmark, Slovakia, Japan and India.
Recent work explores the relationship between touch, light and the drawn surface.
Of her latest work Richard Cork writes: "Within the deliberate confines
she has set herself, an energising sense emerges of the rich and audacious possibilities
for drawing today."

Work is held in public collections including
the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Was
Guest Artist in Residence, Kyoto, Japan Spring 2006.
Currently Artist in Residence in Drawing at the V&A,
London (2006-8).
